March of Dimes (MoD) wanted to promote their 50th anniversary of the polio vaccine, which was introduced in April of 1954. Finding a vaccination for polio was the original mission of the March of Dimes. The Web site design was created with a goal of reconnecting MoD with the original "Polio Pioneers" (1.8MM people who survived the epidemic), and their contemporaries to involve them with MoD\'s current mission.
ID Society developed a Flash/HTML hybrid web site that included three major elements: 1) a timeline, 2) a community bulletin board and 3) links to donation, e-commerce, and subscription pages. The timeline's Flash Web design incorporated images, video, sound and text illustrating MoD milestones since 1939. The community bulletin board system allows polio survivors and their contemporaries to share their stories, while links allow visitors to subscribe to the March of Dimes newsletter, donate money and purchase memorabilia.
